JOB Description: Senior Evaluator

The Candidate must have a comprehensive understanding of International Credential Evaluation. Reviews and evaluates academic documents in order to prepare evaluation reports for clients and applicants to assist in the integration of such persons into academic or business settings.:

Responsibilities:

  • Accurately review and understand foreign documents
  • Select credentials, institutions, grading scales and major areas of study in order to develop high quality evaluations.
  • Develop intimate knowledge of the education systems covered by the group
  • Prepare correspondence to institutions and applicants
  • Stay current with information on International Evaluation, changing educational curriculum and grading systems
  • Stay current with Verification techniques and identifying of Diploma Mills/documentation.
  • Train and mentor junior evaluators
  • Identify improvements in the process along with senior staff
  • Participate in, and contribute to International Evaluation organizations such as NAFSA, AACRAO, etc.
  • Help periodically review policies and procedures and upgrade them when appropriate

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • 8+ years of work experience
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Fluency in a foreign language (oral and written)
  • Study or work abroad preferred
  • Supervise junior evaluators
  • Computer literate
  • Experience with conducting research
  • Interest in foreign education systems
  • Ability to read/speak/write foreign languages a plus

  • Strong understanding of documentation issued by the various educational institutes in the responsible country
  • Contact and work with Educational Institutes in responsible country to verify documentation received for evaluation
  • Manage regional resources and co-ordinate their schedules and set priorities.
  • Have the skills to work with and negotiate with senior members at the educational institute
  • Extensive travel required
  • Will update and present briefing to senior members at educational institutes, government agencies (e.g. Educational ministries, etc.) with status and new approaches in International evaluation and document verification needs.
  • Prepare correspondence to institutions and applicants
  • Stay current with information on International Evaluation, changing educational curriculum and grading systems
  • Stay current with Verification techniques and identifying of Diploma Mills/documentation.
